The KV Blues Band

The KV Blues Band is inspired by a marriage of Beale Street
and the South side of Chicago. Essentially you can take any of
the 50's and 60’s Chicago recordings from Chess and Checker
records and mix them together with the Memphis sounds from the
Sun Records and Stax recording studios.   This was an extremely
prolific period of American music.

Our goal is to use these early recordings as a launch pad for The
KV Blues Band and to bring them up to the 21st Century in terms
of our own stylistic approach. We’re putting the Rhythm back in
Blues by emphasizing songs for their dance ability:
